About this item

USDA Choice Angus Beef Bottom Round Roast is a full-flavored cut for a great value and is best prepared using moist heat such as slow cooking or braising to enhance the flavor and tenderness of the meat.

Ways to Prepare Your Beef

A USDA Choice Angus Beef Bottom Round Roast is perfect for use in slow cookers to create a delicious and tender pot roast. Season your beef with your favorite spices. Add a layer of your favorite root vegetables to the bottom of the pot and lay the beef on top. You can add celery, onions, carrots, garlic and potatoes or any other vegetables you enjoy with a roast and let it cook on low overnight or on high for 6-8 hours.

For a slow cooker beef stew, add cream of mushroom and beef stock or broth to the mix and serve over your favorite type of noodles. It's also easy to cook with veggies on the stove in a Dutch oven or pot where, once the beef is done cooking, you can remove the meat and add flour and water to the drippings to create a delicious and easy gravy to serve it with.

What Does USDA Choice Mean?

The grading system used by the United States Department of Agriculture determines the quality of beef based on an inspection system measuring the amount of marbling and the maturity of the beef. The higher the ratio of marbling and the younger the beef, the higher the USDA grade. The highest grade is Prime, followed by Choice and Select.
