What is the pre-filter and how do I clean it?
The pre-filter is a screen mesh cover that captures the larger debris like fur, dander, and dust and it can be cleaned by gently vacuuming or by popping it out of the frame and handwashing gently with soap and water, then air dry (until completely dry) and clipped back in in the frame.
How do I know when to replace my filter and what type of filter does it use?
The air purifier has a filter indicator light that changes color to help notify you that a replacement filter is needed. When the light is yellow, it means it is time to order a new filter, when red it means the filter needs to be replaced as soon as possible. After replacing the filter, make sure to reset the filter indicator light by holding down the button until the light turns green. All Alen air purifiers have different filter sizes, the 75i unit takes filter model B7.
What does the ionizer button do?
Alen's ionizer creates negative ions which clump tiny particles together making them easier for the purifier to capture. The ionizer feature is optional (can be turned off) and is certified to be ozone-safe by California Air Resources Board (CARB) with less than 0.001 PPM of ozone when engaged. Ozone emissions are zero when the ionizer is off.
