About this item
Fondly known as ‘Stoli,’ Stolichnaya’s name comes from the Russian word ‘Stolitsa’ meaning ‘capital city’ and its label depicts Moscow’s famous Moscova Hotel. The formula for Stoli is said to have been first documented in 1938 and the brand was first brought to the US in 1972.
The process begins in a town named Tambov, located in the Black Earth Region of Russia, where the fermentation of Stoli starts with wheat and rye grains as well as artesian water. The fermentation process takes around 60 hours to be completed. Once fermentation is complete the resulting liquid is distilled four times to a strength of 96.4% ABV. The spirit is then sent to the Latvias Balzams facility in Latvia where it is diluted to bottling strength with more artesian well water. It is then filtered through quartz, sand, activated charcoal, and finally through woven cloth. The result is a vodka full of bold taste and character, ready to be enjoyed around the world.
Stoli Vodka can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail. Try it in a Moscow mule at home:
