About this item

Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and then triple distilled in copper pot stills, Redbreast 15 is comprised exclusively of Pot Still whiskeys matured in the finest oak casks for no less than 15 years and non-chill filtered. A careful balance of first fill and refill casks accentuates the assorted spices within Redbreast's characteristic full and complex flavor, amplified through additional maturation. On the nose, it is full and rich with a complex yet balanced mix of berry fruits and aromatic oils. The taste is fully round and mellow with the succulence of fleshy fruit combined with spices and toasted wood. The finish is long and sophisticated.

Built on a loyal following of "those in the know," today Redbreast is the largest selling Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey in the world and is considered the definitive expression of the traditional Irish spirit. W & A Gilbey was founded in 1857 and began in small basement cellars at the corner of Oxford Street and Berwick Street in London. By 1866 the company moved to new offices and stores in the center of Dublin. In 1887 an alliance with Jameson had formed. The first official reference to the brand name, "Redbreast," appears in August 1912. The last bottling of Redbreast under the Gilbey’s banner occurred in 1985 and was reintroduced by Irish Distillers Limited in December 1991. In 2005, the seminal Redbreast 15 is released.
