About this item

Roses are perhaps the best-known flower in the world. A rose is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosacea. There are over three hundred species and thousands of cultivars. The long cultural history of the Rose has led to it being a symbol of love and power. In ancient Greece, the rose was closely associated with the goddess Aphrodite. In the Iliad, Aphrodite protects the body of Hector using the “immortal oil of the rose.” Red Roses are the quintessential flower of romance and love. In 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed legislation to make the Rose the floral emblem of the United States. Roses are featured in a wide range of floral designs, bouquets, and arrangements, as well as corsage and wedding flowers. They come from premier farms in Columbia that are committed to providing consistent and high-quality product. We are proud to share that the farms these flowers come from, received prestigious certifications from both Florverde and the Rainforest Alliance signifying that these farms show a commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability. Finally, it is important to share that all these farms strive to make a difference in the lives of their employees and their overall well-being.

Flower Care

We recommend keeping your flowers in a cool location away from direct sunlight or heat. Also avoid placing any ripening fruit near your flowers as they release gasses that may cause your flowers to expire at a faster rate. Fill your vase using filtered water and a floral preservative if available. Give the stems a fresh cut at an angle using a very sharp knife or pair of garden shears, and immediately place in a container of water. Replace all water daily keeping water levels close to the vase opening. As some flowers begin to wilt, remove them so they don’t spread bacteria to the rest of the bouquet. Certain flowers will fade before others. There’s beauty throughout the entire life of a bloom. Enjoy these cut flowers all the way through the fading process.
