Shrimp may be seasoned and steamed, poached, grilled, fried or sautéed. Use it as an appetizer or broil with butter and garlic for a lobster-like feast. Shrimp is also great for gumbos, pasta dishes, étouffée or salads.

Thawing Instructions

Place frozen shrimp into a strainer and rinse with cold water for 5 minutes. Rotate shrimp while rinsing. Let drain before serving.

Grilled Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Big Easy Gulf Shrimp
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 bunch green onions thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation:

  1. Place shrimp in a medium bowl. Stir remaining ingredients together; pour over shrimp.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours.
  3. Grill for about 5 to 7 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time.
